Past the Bleachers

Past the Bleachers is set in a small Vermont town. Bill-Richard Dean Anderson-and Harper Parrish are two parents struggling to come to grips with the sudden death of their son Nathaniel. Both try to keep busy and they avoid talking about their son as much as possible. A well-meaning town elder persuades Bill to coach Little League baseball, a sport Nathaniel loved. He meets a strange mute child named Lucky Diamond. Through interactions with Lucky and conversations with a senior citizen named Ed Godfrey, Bill gradually confronts his unresolved pain. As Bill and Harper unravel the mystery of Lucky's past they finally begin to heal. By the end of the movie they are facing a brighter future with Lucky as a permanent part of their lives and a new baby on the way.
