MacGyver

This section of the site features Richard Dean Anderson as Angus MacGyver.

The MacGyver series ran from 1985-1992 on the ABC television network in the United States. Mr. Anderson was the star and shared his adventures with Dana Elcar who played Pete Thornton.
He was routinely joined by a host of talented guest stars, including on occasion, the very funny Bruce McGill.
While working for the Phoenix Foundation MacGyver dealt with a variety of situations: The Cold War, environmental threats, cultural and ethnic differences, as well as advocating for children and endangered species.
This action/adventure series was unique in the respect that MacGyver always tried to think his way out of trouble. Brute force was secondary and guns were off limits. The character possessed a keen mind and a dry wit, the latter to hide a troubled childhood filled with tragedy. As a young adult I fell instantly in love with his megawatt smile and the gentle, giving soul behind it.

Thank you Richard Dean Anderson for doing such a wonderful job portraying a character who has become a part of pop culture worldwide.
